Ok I don’t want to sound like I am an authority on anything or that I know what I’m doing at any point, ever, but please! Have some confidence in the fics you post. Writing ‘this is trash’ ‘first fic, probably shit’ ‘I know this sucks’ etc is really off putting for readers. Even if you don’t have confidence in your fic, which I get, I still get ridiculously nervous before I post anything, you shouldn’t publicly put it down for everyone to see. Both for your readers and for yourself; if you took time to write it, it means something and you should try and have at least a little bit of pride in it.
