These Florida kids are not fucking around. 

I’m so tired of mental illness being exploited to mask white domestic terrorism and protect the 2nd amendment created when guns were shit and not automatic. First of all, it’s perpetuating the stereotype that people with mental illnesses are dangerous. It’s perpetuating the demonization and stigmatization of mental illness which makes no sense considering how common they are. Using it as an excuse to maintain mass shootings so yall can send all those helpful thoughts and prayers. The majority of us don’t want to shoot people let alone fucking children. Could it be a factor? Sure. But it is not the cause. So why is it the first thing that comes out of someone’s mouth is that they’re “sick?” “Poor kid 😦 it’s not his fault he murdered all those people, he was bullied!! That damn mental illness bug making all our precious white kids massacre. Such a shame, they were a good kid.” Fuck off.

Both the bill of rights and the constitution NEED to be revised to tailor to modern society. They completely excluded poc, it was the fucking 1700s, the world has changed tremendously?? Yall treat it like it’s some sacred text. And that’s another problem, America views it like the fuckin bible but religion and the state are separate right? Fuck. Off. As if it’s forbidden to be adjusted. How is a society supposed to progress and develop when we’re still following almost 300 year old “rules??” That’s why we are where we are. Literally stuck in the dark ages. Probably not a mistake either. So protecting your precious ass guns and those created TO KILL HUMANS is a priority over children’s lives. Wait until you get that call telling you your kid is dead while your American flag waves on your porch and your Facebook is full of “protect our guns” and “lying liberals” posts.

It’s not going to stop.

The founding fathers didn’t even write the second amendment for that reason. All these conservatives with their beloved “second amendment right” have completely miscontrued and abused the point of said amendment altogether. James Madison included “the right to bear arms” into our Bill of Rights because this was a time when the people were afraid of British soldiers coming in and quartering and abusing them.

This was a necessity for them because they didn’t have a standing army.

The people wanted to make sure they could defend themselves from other armies because if, say, the French army wanted to invade they were fucked. They won the Revolutionary war bc people could volunteer and use their own guns to fight the British.

Now there’s no need to own guns bc our military is well stocked (better than some rando gun lover will ever be) and we have a standing army to protect its people from foreign threats. Now, instead of allowing people to protect themselves, guns just make it exponentially more difficult to do so. Our “right to bear arms” no longer protects us from outside threats, but rather creates dangerous solutions to interal conflict.
