Am I the only one who doesn’t see characters completely vividly, but more like bodies with a distinct hair colour and eyes that reflect their personality … does that make sense?

Unless I have a specific person in mind, they are just fuzzy blobs

This is pretty much exactly what happens when I’m reading a book. They’re all just basically blobs with a few distinguishing features mentioned in the text.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who does this, I always thought I was just very uncreative or terribly lazy when reading.

definitely blobs for me as well. I see scenery and buildings much more clearly

Yep, I’m also firmly in the blobs department (which is also why casting choices/fan art usually don’t bother me much unless they go completely against what we know about a certain character).
