Right now they’re a shocking number of posts circulating on Tumblr defending Marl/PK to this effect.
Apparently there are a LOT of people who don’t understand predatory behavior when they see it, don’t understand grooming practices when they see it, and don’t understand the impact these behaviors can have on people, ESPECIALLY CHILDREN, who are targeted by it.
The predatory nature of the perp, the targeting of a minor, the promises of money and the chance to “have fun” doing it, it all hits pretty close to home in terms of the events that lead me to being a survivor and later making this blog in the first place.
so in the hopes of shedding some light on what’s wrong with this line of thinking to those who genuinely may have hope of being convinced by a calm, rational voice…
A conversation like this doesn’t come flat out of the blue.
A conversation between an adult and a child like this doesn’t come flat out of the blue.
Marl was had very clearly gradually introduced these ideas over a period of time prior to this particular chat session and was likely fishing for responses or confirmations of interest from Person X for a WHILE prior to this to the point where Person X warmed up to it.
This pattern of grooming and gradually introducing different elements of the proposal until they became casual elements of conversations between them regardless of what the original opening topic of discussion was is exactly what my main abuser did to me (even though that was in person and not online), and pretty much shows in any online chat logs of similar predatory discussions.
Predators get people into a position where the person they’re targeting feels that the subjects the predator is discussing are normal parts of sexual behavior that just aren’t openly discussed, they get the target into a position where they feel they’re being “uncool” or “not a good friend” if they don’t at least go through the motions of seeming interested in what the perp is proposing, make them feel horrible for not agreeing to do it for someone who’s spent so much time and offered them so much companionship and enjoyment.
Perps get the targets interested with promises that they’ll have fun and enjoy themselves, promises that they’ll sell the tapes of the proposed acts on their behalf and make the target loads of money, at a time in their life when they for legal or practical reasons can’t get get a proper job and may have nothing but parental allowances or cash gifts from family members.
Based on what I can glean from the full set of screencaps, Person X was going to be in a situation where she was transported across state lines and staying at the home of several people she liked or maybe even idolized and in an extreme position of not wanting to disappoint, basically dependant on them for a place to stay and food to eat during this period, as well as relying on them for a car ride or coach ticket back home, and therefore basically trapped, even if the doors weren’t literally locked, and all this as a MINOR, a CHILD, being furnished and instructed by people of such greater age than her, than in a school or summer camp setting, that they’d have the proxy authority over her that a parent would have.
These are not people on equal footing, even if they are friends.
Aside from ALL of that, a KID typing into a chat that they’re okay with having sex with an animal, being filmed as part of child pornography, or being prostituted, DOES NOT EQUATE TO KNOWLEDGEABLE CONSENT.
An underage teen can’t make an informed decision as to the extreme risks and hazards involved in ANY of those activities, let alone the fact that bestiality, child porn, or prostitution are all sex crimes, ANY ONE of those would have been one of the most traumatic, painful, and abusive ways that a person could possibly be exposed to sexual activity at a point in their life when their minds, bodies, and understanding of themselves and their own sexual identity are by necessity incomplete.
An adult who cared about someone they liked and were friends with would be doing everything they possibly could to PROTECT them from that, instead Marl did the exact opposite and in only a few lines of text lured a teenager into his plan to:
A. Transport a minor across state lines
B. produce child pornography of the minor.
C. subject said minor to participation in bestiality.
D. sell the footage for profit
E. Use the minor for prostitution
F. Have sex with the minor themselves.
This list constitutes almost every sex crime except for necrophilia.
And as for Person X “consenting”?
She explicitly explains she’s afraid of getting trouble for doing this, and the context implies that Marl probably seeded her with the idea that SHE is the one who would be guilty of wrongdoing if the proposed activities were to have been exposed by the authorities.
Instead of backing off, Marl just proposes alternative ways she could be involved in the zoophilia porn, and later even goes into detail how props like wigs and the like could be used to disguise her face.
Once again, Person X, a minor, someone who’s most pressing responsibilities were probably passing the next round of midterms, came forward a supposed friend with genuine, plainly expressed concerns that she was afraid of having sex with a dog on camera due to the fear of being recognized, and her “friend”, rather than comforting them by dropping the subject entirely, tried to rationalize away their fears by scheming to produce a disguise for her and continued to push the idea of her doing the videos.
This is not the mindset of a caring friend, regardless of the obvious hazards and likelyhood of the dog being in a stressed or aggressive/dominant state, biting and injuring her, or physically injuring her reproductive organs due to the basic fact of a human woman not being evolutionarily designed to accomodate the penis of a god damn dog.
If Marl cared about person X, shouldn’t he be worried about what would happen to her friend if she got CAUGHT during an act of prostitution or bestiality? Police are sometimes merciless with arresting KIDS used for prostitution or bestiality even when they’re doing it under the obvious direction of predatory adults, these things could land Marl’s “friend” in prison or cause them offender status, but none of those stopped him from pursuing these plans because to him the sex acts and the opportunity to produce and sell porn of them once again outweighed the well being and safety of someone who was supposed to be their “friend”.
The promises of money, the promises of gifts, the offers to buy sex toys, the promise of being able to “get away” from home and have an enjoyable time under their care while having fun and making money starring in extreme pornpgraphy, its like all of these predatory assholes read the EXACT same book, whether its online or in person, they all make the exact same plays and use the same tactics.
This guy is an asshole, and given the context of his EXTREMELY close association with Glip, and Glip’s well documented long running interest in intorducing kids to pornography of their own creation, including many artistic depictions of acts which would in real life be defined as sexual animal abuse, including the use of kids cartoon creatures such as Pokemon to do so, you can’t just say “well Marl is a jerk but Glip is totally not involved.” without ignoring basic facts of reality.
Hope writing this does SOME kind of good somehow.
I don’t want to believe that everyone who isn’t yet convinced that Marl is messed up is literally evil, literally condones predatory behavior, literally condones using minors for bestiality, literally condones statutory rape, so maybe I haven’t totally wasted my time here.
