lance: was a total dick to keith in season 1-3 to cope with his insecurities, kept making uncomfortable attempts at flirting with allura and going as far as trying to get a kiss from her in s2

lance stans: HE’S A GOOD BOY HOW DARE LAUREN SAY OTHERWISE

lance: is just your average joe, doesn’t have an angsty backstory but is still a relatable character for most viewers with relatable insecurities and struggles with self confidence

lance stans: he needs more angst! we’ll take one of his limbs and give him mental illnesses (like shiro)! we’ll make him half extraterrestrial (like keith)!

lance: has been flirting with allura since day 1, slowly beginning to realize he loves her and sees her as a person and someone he genuinely cares for, even going as far as risking his life for her

lance stans: what a cute sibling relationship 🙂

lance: isn’t really the same boy we were introduced to in s1, has matured immensely and supports his friends, still cracks some jokes but aside from that has become a more serious character who thinks of others before himself
