lord of the rings: the fellowship of the ring, the book? mostly focuses on the cultures of hobbits and men, but does showcase the cultures of elves and dwarves in relative equality to each other, specifically making use of the literary device of juxtaposition to compare them and explain aspects of them. this is done both through how legolas and gimli speak to each other and the fellowship, and with how specifically chapters 5 and 6 of book two are presented in the book.
