Nation states are predicated on the exclusion of some other, potentially and usually indigenous, group. That has been true since nation states first came into being and will continue as long as they exist. You don’t even have to look at the more classic examples like the United States to see this – in Europe, in countries like France and Spain, there are many different cultures that have all been forced to be assimilated and diluted down to the dominant “French” or “Spanish” culture.

Languages have been dying at an accelerating rate since the nation state first came into existence. There are hundreds of languages that just dont exist anymore, replaced by English, French, Spanish, and the other languages dominated by large nationalistic expansions. The history of nationalism is absolutely the history of the death of culture.

You want to protect different cultures? Eliminate nationalism.

Nationalists dont care about culture. They care about power and supremacy. And nothing kills cultures faster than those two things.
