I remember seeing several interviews with Martin Scorsese explaing that we should teach visual literacy to children, since imagery is a very powerful tool and has a “vocabulary and grammar” of its own that people should at least be able to know how to interprept on there own. If you want to use visual storytelling, you need to know how to guide your audience’s eye through framing.
