unpopular opinion: you shouldn’t tailor your belief system solely around thinking the opposite of people you don’t like. i know the first instinct is to disagree with shitty people, but you’re still letting them decide your worldview.

not to blow any minds but no person or even group of people is so purely evil that every opinion they have on the smallest thing is amoral. it just isn’t possible to disagree with someone 100% on everything.

even if the grossest asshole bigot says “X is bad” you’re not morally obligated to say “no, X is good!” without even considering X yourself. that doesn’t mean that you’re agreeing with them, your reason for disliking X could be completely different. or it could even be the same, and you just have to realize that having one iota in common with a bad person doesn’t make you bad. and fuck purity culture for fooling anyone into thinking that isn’t obvious.

hatred isn’t a substitute for a moral compass.
