Listen, if you’re someone who believes fictional ships can normalize rape, abuse, murder, child molestation, etc. – then you’re also categorized alongside people who: 

  • believe videogames normalize and make human beings go out and murder people and commit violence acts, 
  • those who believe fantasy games and stories create devil worshippers
  • that heavy metal music and rock music create satanic lesbians, violent criminals

Here’s the thing, guys: you don’t have to appease antis!

First of all, you can’t! It doesn’t matter what kind of horrific abuse you’ve been subjected to, antis will never ever think it’s “good enough.” It will never grant you a “permission” to ship “gross” ships or have “bad” kinks. It will simply never happen.

Because the whole ~you can’t do that unless you are a survivor uwu~ thing antis do? It ‘s bullshit. They are constantly moving the goalposts!

Don’t try to appease antis. Stop trying to justify your ships and your kinks to them. You are good enough!

You’re a survivor of emotional abuse but not sexual? You are good enough!

A survivor of sexual abuse but not this or that kind? You are good enough!

A survivor of physical abuse, but not emotional or sexual? You are good enough!

Second of all, none of this matters! 

The only question you need to ask yourselves is: are you hurting anyone? Are you hurting any living, breathing person in real life? If the answer is “no,” then you are good enough! Whatever you ship or kink, whatever you fantasise about, no matter how “disgusting” some might find it, as long as you are not hurting real people, YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH!

antis: claim to care about victims but force them to cope ship in private, tell them they know better than their professional therapists, assume they ship “problematic” ships as a coping mechanism when they very well could ship it just cause they like it, and insist that victims are harming themselves by exposure to such content even though it’s been proven that exposure is the most effective method of recovery
