I got no problems with Homestuck being updated like this. Since they announced the death knell of Flash, we all knew it was coming. Viz Media putting in the labor to update the entire thing so it has a little more longevity is honestly necessary unless someone like the Internet Archive wants to do us all a solid.
So the problem is not that.
The problem is everyone at WP suddenly looking for work as this is going down.
one of my most prominent homestuck memories was the time i finished it, at 1am, in the middle of summer. i vividly remember not being able to easily see my laptop screen through my intense happy tears! these characters, who i spend three entire months with reading and growing attached to them, got the ending that i wanted them to get (even if it wasnt the best). i remember trying to keep my tears silent on october tenth, 2016 as i watched the credits video as soon as it was uploaded. i was so overwhelmed both of these times with intense emotions i could only describe as serious attachment to these fictional characters!
for that reason i am a little more than scared. i am a little bit more than worried for the future of the homestuck universe as a whole, because big corporations never mix well with this kind of media. i dont want to see it completely butchered and made by people who have no idea how much it means to me, and to people like me.
tell me im overreacting!!! please!!!!! tell me the fiction i love with all my heart will be fine!!!!!!! but for many reasons, i really don’t think i am
