simple thing to remember when it comes to (mental health) medication:
bad for you ≠ bad for me
it affects everyone differently so please don’t go around saying that medication is bad just because it personally didn’t work for you. don’t make others feel unnecessarily ashamed for trying this route even if yours wasn’t positive. alert them of the risks if you want to but remember that you’re not their physician and keep that condescending tone to yourself. let everyone find for themselves what works best for them, and if that means taking medication, accept it.
